It’s a Boy! (Part Deux)

Posted on

As promised, here is the second card I made for the new Family addition!

I tried my luck at masking the sentiment stamps in order to mix two words and I have to say, it only took one shot!  Huzzah!  I wanted to keep this one somewhat simple but still fun and this is where I ended up.  To create the above, here’s what I used:

SUPPLIES:
*Basic Baby Green Card Stock
*Basic Baby Blue Card Stock
*Shimmery Cream Paper (Still working hard to get through this!)
*Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set
*Delightful Decorations Stamp Set
*Tempting Turquoise Ink Pad
*Old Olive Ink Pad
*1 3/8″ Circle Punch
*Turquoise Marker Pen
*Basic Green Rhinestones

*As always, anything else you think you’d like to add to it!

I have been trying to organize my craft space as my next order will be bringing lots of fun goodies that I definitely need to make space for!  Most of all, I’m anxious to get playing and share with you some “amped-up” creations!!

It’s a Boy! (Part 1)

Posted on

I found out yesterday that our extended family grew by “plus 1” which is very exciting.  A little boy was born and I couldn’t be happier for his parents!!  Tonight’s mission was to create two different baby cards to mark the occasion!  Naturally, I came down to my desk and sat looking around at all of the materials I had available to me…….and off I went.

Here’s card #1:
I wanted to obviously play on it being for a little boy hence all of the blues. I wanted to do something a little different as far as how it opened and I knew I wanted the sentiment to be in the middle so as to draw the eye in.  Once I had cut/punched everything out, it was down to the “accents” and how I was going to tackle that.  At any rate, this is where I net out.  What do you think?  Tomorrow I will post the second card I made……..To create the above, here’s what I used:

SUPPLIES:
*Basic Slate Blue Card Stock
*Basic Baby Blue Card Stock
*Shimmery Cream Paper (I will be working hard to get through this!)
*Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set
*Tempting Turquoise Ink Pad
*Decorative Label Punch
*1 3/8″ Circle Punch
*Turquoise Marker Pen
*Basic Clear Rhinestones

*As always, anything else you think you’d like to add to it!

I hope everyone had a chance to check out the Stampin’ Up!  Online Extravaganza!  There were definitely some great deals to be had!  Today is coming to a close and unfortunately, so is the sale!  I managed to scoop up some fun items and can’t wait to get playing with them.  I looooooove “fun-mail” so of course, I’ve been watching my parcel track its route and will anxiously await its arrival.  This parcel also contains some great items for others so it will be even MORE fun when I get to deliver their goodies!  Youpie!

Workshop – “The Little Things”

Posted on

Yesterday, I hosted a workshop that was intended to put everyone in the Christmas spirit.  TV channel was changed to Galaxy’s finest Christmas tunes, fresh baked goodies, and the table was set with all things Christmas!  It turned into a small group but we had fun all the same!

I demonstrated how to create a wine bottle tag for the perfect hostess gift (of which you can see in the background above) but gave away to one of my guests and forgot to snap an up close photo.  doh!  All in all, it was a fun afternoon and in the end created some great Christmas tags!  While I had prepared for 4 tags specifically, we took what supplies we had and did a few more than 4!!  I think we put a great dent in completing some of those “little things” like gift tags!  Big BIG thanks to those that came out!  😉

To make the above, here’s the list of supplies we used:

SUPPLIES:

*Night of Navy Card Stock
*Real Red Card Stock
*Whisper White Card Stock
*Very Vanilla Card Stock
*Old Olive Card Stock
*Delightful Decorations Stamp Set
*Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set
*Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set
*Old Olive Ink Pad
*Real Red Ink Pad
*Basic Black Ink Pad
*Dazzling Details
*Decorative Label Punch
*1 3/8″ Circle Punch
*Ornament Punch
*Basic Rhinestones in Red, Green and White
*Generic Festive Ribbon

*As always, anything else you think you’d like to add to it!

Also, just a reminder that there are only a couple of days left for the Stampin’ Up! Online Extravaganza.  It ends on the 28th – that’s WEDNESDAY!!  For the complete list of sale items, please click HERE.

Birthday x2

Posted on

Tonight I tackled Birthday Card #2.  Again, keeping with the Fall theme, I once again used my “Lovely As a Tree” set and did this simple little diddy:

Because this is going to one of my husband’s buddies, I didn’t want to “jazz” it up too much.  Not sure how much he’d appreciate rhinestone accents!  I did play with my new “wax paper” trick again when stamping.  It’s pretty neat as no two images will stamp the same!

To make the card above, I used the following:

SUPPLIES:
*Basic Blue Card Stock
*Basic Navy Card Stock
*Shimmery Cream Paper (I will be working hard to get through this!)
*Basic Lime Green Grosgrain Ribbon
*Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set
*Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set
*Old Olive Ink Pad
*Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad
*Real Red Ink Pad
*Daffodil Delight Ink Pad
*Pacific Point Ink Pad

*As always, anything else you think you’d like to add to it!

I have one more small little Birthday card to make which I’ll take on tomorrow.  That said, this post is a short and sweet one.

Until next time……

Birthday Birthday

Posted on

My mission this week is to make a couple of Birthday Cards.  Usually when I come down to my desk, I tend to sit and stare at everything in front of me.  I’ll often have some sort of idea in mind but I find I get different inspiration based on what materials are in front of me.

Tonight, I was presented with a real challenge……and unfortunately, not quite the inspiration I was looking for right then……..

As cute as he is, he chose to plant himself right on top of my work space.  You think he’s demanding?  Nah………  I will say, he is good company when I’m down here!

At any rate, once I relocated the cat, I began the creation of Birthday Card #1.   I had a bunch of old card stock that I’ve been wanting to get through so I chose some fall colours.  Since these Birthdays are still technically “Fall Birthdays”, I wanted to play with the season somewhat.  I also used a technique on the stamping that I learned at a previous workshop and I had a lot of fun with that.  It involves wax paper!  Ask me sometime!

I otherwise kept the card pretty simple.  I do enjoy a lovely ornate card but there’s something to be said about the simple and sweet ones.  What do you think?

Here’s what I used to complete the card above:

SUPPLIES:
*Basic Red Card Stock
*Basic Textured Green Card Stock
*Shimmery Cream Paper (I have a bunch of this to get through – leftover from our wedding invites almost 5 years ago!!)
*Basic Green Rhinestones
*Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set
*Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set
*Old Olive Ink Pad
*Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad
*Real Red Ink Pad
*Daffodil Delight Ink Pad

*Anything else you think you’d like to add to it!

Don’t forget that Stampin’ Up! is having a major Online sale until the 28th.  If you are thinking of placing an order, check out the full list of deals HERE.  There are 24 hour blitz deals as well within this period so have a look and see if that item you had your eye on is up for discounted grabs!  😉

DIY Christmas Card Planning!

Posted on

If you’re thinking about doing up your own Christmas Cards this year, now is probably a good time to get yourself organized.  Are you looking to create something sweet and simple?  Or perhaps something a little more ornate and festive?  Either way, hand-designing your own Christmas Cards should be fun!  No stress allowed!

One of my favourite Christmas cards to date that I had the opportunity to make was done at a Workshop with a fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Christyne Richardson last month.  We made a total of 10 cards that day ranging from super simple to a little more involved.  Here’s the one I speak of:

Such a simple design and it can totally be customized to fit your tastes.  I know in time I’d like to try this in a series of Blues to give it that much more of a “wintery” feel.  To make the card above, here’s the list of items used:

SUPPLIES:
*Whisper White Card Stock
*Primose Petals Card Stock
*Silver Shimmer Paper
*Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set
*Pink Pirouette Ink Pad
*Primrose Petals Ink Pad
*Basic Rhinestones
*Anything else you think you’d like to add to it!

That said, I should also mention that Stampin’ Up! is having a major Online sale over the next couple of weeks.  It Starts MONDAY!!!  If you are thinking of placing an order anytime soon, hold off until Monday!  And to help you with your Christmas Card planning, check out the full list of deals HERE.  There are 24 hour blitz deals as well within this period so have a look and see if that item you had your eye on is up for discounted grabs!  😉

As always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
