Easter Ready!

Posted on

I had originally planned to do a class working with canvas last weekend but ended up having to make some last minute adjustments.  So, instead I thought, why not get Easter-Ready with some nice cards!  I have once again fallen in love – this time it’s with Butterflies!!  I wanted to create something simple but add some fun dimension to the card – so, the butterfly is set to fly!!  😉  This was one of the cards from last week!

Here’s a close up of the floating butterfly just to give you a sense of how I did it…..

Here’s what I used to create this card:

PAPER :  Pretty In Pink, Whisper White, DSP – “Flirtatious”

STAMPS:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Papillon Potpourri

INK:  Wisteria Wonder

TOOLS:  Big Shot – Perfect Polka Embossing Folder, 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch

ACCESSORIES:  Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

I made this card for a Wedding and thought I would “spice it up” just a wee bit.  I’m a fan of bright colours and thought, why not?  This was also my first attempt at making a paper rosette (or lolly as some know it).  I’ll be honest, it was a little finicky but once I got the sucker (pun intended!) pinned down, I was good to go!  🙂  I love how they look especially with something fixed in the  middle such as a decorative brad as I’ve used here.  The best part is, once you get good at it, you can have fun with all kinds of sizes!

PAPER :  Certainly Celery, Whisper White, DSP – “Sycamore Street” (SAB)

STAMPS:  Sassy Salutations

INK:  Versa Mark Pad

TOOLS:  Big Shot – Vine Street Embossing Folder (SAB), Simply Scored, Heat Tool – Silver Embossing Powder

ACCESSORIES:  Basic Rhinestones, Tangerine Tango 1/4″ Ribbon, Calypso Coral Brad

Coloured Bursts….

Sycamore Street strikes again!  This is the other side of the paper I used in the previous card.  I was in the mood to do a simple but somewhat classy card.  I had punched out these flower bursts a while ago so thought I’d find a way to incorporate them.  Using a soft sponge I swiped the edges with ink.  Initially I just tested out one but loved what was happening that I decided to do the other 3!!  I’m also a fan of this colour blue.  The nice thing about the flower bursts is, I had the option of using the raised edge side up – either way gives you a different look!  The ink took much nicer to this side!  What do you think?

PAPER :  Marina Mist, Whisper White, DSP – “Sycamore Street”

STAMPS:  You Are Loved

INK:  Marina Mist

TOOLS:  Big Shot – Edgelits Finishing Touches, Flower Burst Embosslit

ACCESSORIES:  Basic Rhinestones, Soft sponge to apply colour

I think I have fallen in love with the Sycamore Street Designer Series paper.  I love it………a lot!   This combo of colours has me written all over it as they are some of my favourites!  I was just playing around the other night and thought I’d create something using this paper and elements to enhance it.  This is more or less where I net out!

PAPER :  Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, DSP – “Sycamore Street”, DSP – “Domestic Goddess”

STAMPS:  SAB – Vintage Verses

INK:  Rich Razzleberry

TOOLS:  Big Shot – Perfect Polka Embossing Folder, Labels Collection Framelits

ACCESSORIES:  Basic Rhinestones, Pool Party 1/4″ Ribbon, Pool Party Baker’s Twine, Tangerine Tango Button (Ribbon and Button from SAB pack)

I do!

My task last week was to generate two cards for upcoming weddings.  I had already been working with this specific paper for another card so I thought I’d make the most of it and turn it around on a wedding card!  I wanted to do some embossing so took full advantage of this great Heart stamp out of the “You Are Loved” set and embossed it using Silver powder.  What do you think?Wedding1

PAPER :  Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, DSP – “Everyday Enchantment”

STAMPS:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, You Are Loved

INK:  Pumpkin Pie

TOOLS:  Heat Tool – Silver Embossing Powder
